Karolina Ziębińska-Lewandowskan PhD, is historian of art specialised in photography. Since 2014 she is curator at the Photography Department of the Musée National d’Art Moderne Centre Pompidou in Paris. Before this, Ziębińska-Lewandowska worked at Zachęta – the National Gallery of Art, Warsaw - for ten years. In 2008, she and Karolina Puchała-Rojek, founded the Archaeology of Photography Foundation an NGO initiated to protect and promote archives of influential Polish photographers. In 2001 Ziębińska-Lewandowska graduated from the Institute of Art History at the University of Warsaw, with a thesis on the photographic oeuvre of Zbigniew Dłubak. In 2012 she supported a doctoral thesis on Photography periodicals in the Communist Poland.
